Grained quality leather
We know what you think - when you buy a new bag you're afraid to scratch the leather. That's why we have chosen to work with grained leather. It ages beautifully and doesn't get scratches too easy. We want you to be able to enjoy your bag without worries.
We only work with Italian leather to assure the best quality. Also - we are proud to work with a supplier that is LWG Gold Rated and holding a Blauer Engel certificate - two important certificates in making the production process of leather as sustainable as possible. You can read more about them here and here.
We have chosen to work with leather instead of synthetics based on two important reasons:
1. We want the quality last and not tear off because of poor materials. If taken care of properly, leather can hold up to about 100 years - a perfect bag to give to the next generation of strong women.
2. Cow leather is a by-product from the meat industry - instead of discarding the leather, we believe it's a better option to use it.
Light golden hardware
We have handpicked the hardware to assure the best quality and design. All metals are sourced from Italy, where the bag lock is custom made to add a unique detail to our bags.
The fabric inside each bag is made of a beautiful grey/silver color produced and sourced from Italy. 100% polyester. The label is made from 100% recycled polyester made from plastic bottles, produced and sourced from Portugal.
PRODUCTION IN ESTONIA
When choosing the perfect production site for our bags, we had certain criterion that needed to be met. The first, was that we wanted to have a factory close to Sweden to minimize carbon footprint in transportation. The second was that the factory needed to secure high quality and knowledge in leather and bags. The third and most important one, was that the factory workers have good work conditions. This narrowed down to us finding the perfect partner, a small family-owned factory located in Estonia. Below is some facts about our factory in Estonia.
The year the factory was founded: 1990 by a Swedish family
Number of employees: About 70
Ratio men/women working in the factory: About 95% women and 5% men
Working conditions: 40 hour work week, 5 weeks vacation. Minimum pay in line with EU requirements
Transportation from factory in Estonia to warehouse in Sweden: Truck -> Boat -> Truck
Sustainability contribution: Source as much material as possible locally in Estonia, use waste leather as much as possible
